Terms AND CONDITIONS

Please read carefully

If you are thinking about commissioning me, personally or commercially, please take the time to read through my terms and conditions.

This is not a contract. These are basic guidelines/rules I follow and expect clients I work with to oblidge too.

Terms of service for private commissions

If you have a problem with any of these statements, they may be changed if discussed with me prior to paying for your commissioned piece.

Hello! Ellie here, ready and willing to draw for you! Thank you for considering to commission me.
To make this process as seamless as possible, please read through this page to familiarize yourself with the conditions for commissioning me.

If you’ve commissioned other artists before, it won’t be very different from what you’re used to. After you’ve read through this page and you’re happy with it, just send me an e-mail and we can get started. It’s that easy!

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR FIRST E-MAIL

  • Please include the following details in order for me to determine whether I can take on your Commission. Kindly note that I can only send you a Quote after this information has been provided.

  • State which Commission Type you are interested in. Please pay special attention to my most current Commission offers to see what’s available.

  • Attach an image or include a link to an image of your character(s). This is for me to ensure that I can indeed draw your character(s) for you and that you have sufficient reference for me to work from. If you do not have a character reference sheet I am likely to deny your commission (you are allowed to give me detailed descriptions of characters in compensation of no visual reference, but this will incure extra costs, so a visual reference is preferred).

  • If you already know which pose and expression you’d like, please include it as well. If your commission is accepted, I will ask for a brief description of your character(s) personality and backstory. My highest priority is to capture your character as faithfully as possible, so I’d love to get to know them! You can include this description in your first e-mail if you’d like to save time! Remember, you can tell me as much as you want, the more the better! You do not need to worry that you are rambling or talking too much!

  • By commissioning me you agree to all my terms.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are things I will and will not draw
What I can draw:
  • OC's (Original characters)
  • Humans and human-like creatures
  • Animals/Furries/Scalies
  • Fanart/ fan characters the client has made for a fandom
  • Ask me about unique species or other species not listed
  • Romance and NSFW content (You MUST be 18+ for NSFW content, but PG friendly romance is allowed if the client is under the age of 18- you are not allowed to commission a NSFW piece on behalf of an underage person).
  • Violence/gore (but if the piece is covering a particularly sensitive topic that makes me uncomfortable, I have the right to refuse.
What I will not draw
  • Realistic humans
  • Machines/robots
  • Any style but my own
  • Hate art. Art that specifically bullies, attacks or insults someone or is offensive in anyway.
  • Propaganda
  • No likeness commissions: I will not draw, for example: you, or your boyfriend/girlfriend, your family and friends, or an actor/actress, etc.
PRICING, QUOTES AND PAYMENT
  • You can find my most current prices and rates here
  • Before work can commence, you will receive a quote which you must accept via e-email. Once you accept the Quote and a contract has been signed by both myself and the client, I will begin work, we are both bound to the quoted price and the terms stated in our contact.
  • Although, a pricing list is provided these prices may vary depending on the complexity of your commission. You will be properly notified of a price change before work on the commission starts, in the form of a quote.
  • Payment of the FULL commission price must be made before work will commence, you cannot pay in installments. (Unless it is a particularly large price and myself and you as the client have agreed to pay in installments-do NOT assume you can pay this way by default, ask me first).
  • I do not accept any form of payment other than money as payment for my work. (No art trades, no offering your services to pay etc).
  • My Paypal will be provided in private once I accept your commission. (Sharing my Paypal email is not tolerated).
  • My quotes are always in GBP (Great British Pounds), the invoices sent to the client will not be in any other currency, and the client must bare conversion rates in mind. If you do not know the conversion rate from GBP to your currency, you can always Google it.
APPROVALS AND REVISIONS
  • I will e-mail you at every stage of the commission for you to approve the work before I continue. The order of (general) updates goes: Rough blocking, tie down, final linework, base colour, shading and background (+final effects).
  • Kindly note that once I begin the final linework stage, you will no longer be able to request changes without incurring extra costs. I will notify you once the final linework stage starts, so you have a chance to make sure you’re happy- I will not move onto the next stage of the process until I have your say so.
  • You are always allowed to raise an issue with the artwork at any stage, and I’ll see what I can do to accommodate you as far as possible. Sometimes, somethings do no translate as intended in some stages- it happens! So it is fine to mention and talk about, not telling me you’re not satisfied with the artwork can lead to complications later on.
  • I, however, cannot accommodate commissions that go on past their set time slots due to multiple major destructive changes. If we can’t settle on something you are happy after an extended period of time, I will offer you a full or partial refund on your commission, which will then be cancelled and no further work will be done. But this is a rare case.
REFUNDS AND SATISFACTION
  • You can cancel your commission at any time, but after 48 hours of receiving payment, half of the payment is non-refundable. I have already begun working by that point, and I don’t want my efforts to go completely to waste.
  • After the piece has been completed and sent to you, payment is non-refundable.
  • If, for any reason, I choose to cancel your commission, at no fault of the client, I will give you a full refund.
  • I will send you screenshots of the progress. The days I do commission work on are Friday's and Sunday’s so expect to receive updates from me then. However, I will not tolerate daily messages asking for commission status, you should expect an update once a week from me unless stated otherwise.
  • If you are not satisfied with your commission by the end, I can offer a small refund. I will not give said refund if you simply did not tell me details or forgot. I will give you a refund if I have misunderstood what you have already told me. I check in during every stage of the commission to avoid this, so I will be firm if you request the refund, as to get to such a situation you would have given me the greenlight on every stage to completion, then expressing you are that unhappy with it, and you want a refund. Forgive me if I am firm, but this is to stop me being scammed.
COPYRIGHT/USAGE POLICY
  • I, Elouise (the artist), claim the rights to the produced drawing, not the buyer. Therefore I am allowed to use the copyrighted artwork to:
    • Promote myself with it anywhere
    • Display it everywhere to my liking (website, social media, etc.)
    • Post it whenever I want.
  • The buyer is allowed to:
    • Use the commissioned piece for personal use unless agreed otherwise (you can upload it on all your social media profiles, forums, etc.)
    • Print the artwork for personal use only.
  • The following is considered copyright infringement:
    • Reproducing/using the copyrighted artwork commercially - means making money off it in any way. (This does not apply to a commercial commission)
    • Claiming the artwork as your own
    • Removing my signature from the artwork
    • Altering the artwork without my consent
  • I reserve the full rights to the image and it's use/distribution unless otherwise agreed upon (rights to the image for your own commercial use may be purchased at any time).
